+1 on that I do basically the same thing with Dutch hardware
My grandad ran one over his through the loops an it works.
Just got off the phone with Dutch. Must say awesome service. He offered to replace the hooks but I told him I would fix em up. He is replacing the cord for me. I can't complain a bit on this. Super...
Mine are the newer style, and so are his. I Can see the trim in his picture.
No problem we all have those moments.
Well if it saves me having to buy new slings every 6 months...
Those are other places in the sling where the hooks have been set before.
Maybe we should suggest to Dutch to make the holes smooth and round
I will do this as well as replace the rope.
Mine looks that bad in a couple places. Have you emailed Dutch yet?
I guess I was just a little too rough on the cord I will be ordering some more soon then
I only weigh a buck 50 I may switch to Amsteel 7/64 and see
Not many hangs on it maybe 20. I do get in softly but toss a lot in my sleep.
P.S Fire In My Bones, you rock and I hope to hike with you sometime
I just don't see how it could be the hooks. But I also don't see what else it could be. I mean I know it is the hooks but I don't see how.

I emailed Dutch yesterday and haven't heard back yet so I thought I would post this here. Has anyone...
Good plan. We all need an excuse for more tree time!
I whip my hammocks warbonnet style so it makes for a nice flat lay.
I just got out of my hammock and I see what you mean. I feel the center line on my inner shoulder. But it doesn't really bother me normally, I hadn't even noticed
Do you have this problem with all those stated hammocks? I don't think I have enough experience to really answer your problem, but here is a bump for someone who does.
Welcome from SC
Nice man! Welcome from SC.
Welcome from your southern neighbor in Rock Hill! Welcome to the forums.
What's the hammy in question? And how tall are you?
Trial and error. Then more trial and more error. It took me a while to like sleeping the night in a hammock. Stick with it and it will get better and better as you get your gear right. Hammocking Is...
Thanks pizza I'll have to check some out
Maybe the lash it is new ish
Okay so I have read through past threads on this issue and I still can't find a good answer. I have a continuous RL of 1.75mm Lash-It, and I want to attach the tarp via prussic. I have tried Lash-it,...
Ah interesting
Is it down or synthetic? I can see synthetic maybe compressing on the bottom and making a nice barrier underneath.
If it's below 50 I have got to have a UQ of some kind, or a wool blanket or something.
Looking for some mesh tarp selves for an 11 ft tarp
Alright anybody got a tarp made out of this stuff yet?
It does work without the quilt. I think it is too tight but if I loosen it it get big gaps because the poncho liner is so heavy.

Is this a good amount of sag? I have never been clear on the 30 degree thing.
It's about 56 inches wide and I'm 6' even about 140Lbs. The edges aren't really floppy.
I just got a new 10 ft hammock. It will replaced my grand trunk SBP as my main hammock. I got t set up today and I'm trying to get this poncho liner quilt I have been using to fit it right. I have...

Well my suspension has never failed but the first time I tried to whip my hammock warbonnet style I didn't make the ball on the end large enough. So I eased in got situated and WHAP larks head...
