I had speed hooks in my cart ready to pull the trigger and it disappeared overnight. Although I was bummed when I realized it... That is the way an inventory system it should work.

I wonder if it's user weight, or just specific hooks.

Mine have gone to my gear sling suspension instead of my hammock suspension because they damage my continuous loops. Got mine Christmas day, and within a few sessions of backyard hanging, I noticed the damage. I had just installed a new set of end loops, and within a few hangs they started to shred. I figured with less weight on them in the gear sling, they may not have the issue.

Are the inside edges of the hook sharp? Would this be an issue if you just grind them to be a smooth edge?

You might want to send a quick email to Dutch. Something might have gotten by quality control and I'm sure he'd work with you to set things right.
    see you on the trail,

I have used mine every night since I got them about 3 weeks ago. After the first couple of times I noticed a small bit of damage in the part of the amsteel lead used to make the loop to secure the hook, but despite keeping it in the same position almost every night, the damage does not appear to be getting any worse. It appears to be cosmetic only. They have not done any damage to my continuous loops.

I've also noticed some "crushing" of the line from my speed hooks. I love them but in my opinion, it is causing wear and it's something you need to watch and replace at some point. The only other issue I have with the speed hooks is the shape of the hook itself. It'll fall off the continuous loop of my hammock since it doesn't "lock" on. The hammock hooks he made for the whoopie slings almost "popped" over the loop and stayed in place. I think he can tweek the shape/style of the speed hooks "hook" and achieve the same thing. They're almost perfect but not quite. Having said that, I still think they're the best suspension out there.

I bought three sets of his first batches, didn't ask for it but he sent me the upgraded version. I had already done some smoothing of my own before any problems arose. well now i have some extras..... guess this is a great reason to make some more DIY hammocks from the Argon i got from dutch as well. the first one is amazing!!!

My set was causing some wear on the line and the loops in the hammock. I contacted Dutch about it and he indicated a few sets had gotten through QC and he was replacing them with the upgraded version as soon as he knew about it. Since it was only a very limited number having issues, he did not "recall" all of them I am sure...and no Dutch did not say that I did

Dutch immediately mailed me new lines, new speed hooks, and even new continuous loops for my hammock. My point. Contact Dutch, send him pictures of what you got, and he will make it right. Between Dutch and JRB, I purchase all my gear because of their customer focus...they are the very best!
