    FL>1st (hopefully Annual) Jabba the Hang>Alexander Springs Recreation Area>Oct. 23-25, 2015

Ok guys, I know this is a little short notice aside from the few I mentioned it to at the Hidden Pond Hang, but I am planning a hang at Alexander Springs National Park the Weekend of October Friday, 23rd-Sunday, 25th. It started out as just a usually camping trip with a few friends but I would like to open it up to you folks as well. Hopefully we can make this a yearly thing, and take advantage of this awesome weather this time of year. The purpose of this hang is purely to just get away and relax...or just plain lazy. Want to invite folks to come out with some dutch ovens to fine tune recipes (new and old) for Hangcon/FL Hang 6. Come and chat about your latest DIY project idea. Or just come hang out and throw a few sticks in the fire and share stories, jokes, etc. And for you more energetic folks hope on the Timucuan Trail or venture out to the springs.

Since this started as a small get together, we have reserved just a regular site (site 18, which is a super hammock friendly site FYI). We can probably accommodate a few more Hangers on our site (which we can label as home base). So you may want to give the reservations number a call and get yourself a site, or if enough people are interested I can check into the group site. I know from experience sites #20 and #67 are also great hammock sites. Sites are $22 a night. Only two cars per site can park on site but the parking lot is only a short walk away.

Would love to get to hang with some new folks from the board and some that I meet at the Last Gasp Hang. All are welcome.

Looks interesting. I've added the hang to the schedule.

Hey Phoenix, I'm a hammock newb and would like to come up and learn from you guys before I try and section hike the FT and attempt a thru hike of the AT next spring. I just sent my Blackbird XLC in to get swapped out for a multicam 1.7 SL with the additional multicam winter topcover. I sent back my Edge tarp to facilitate the swap, and I am going to get a Hammock Gear Camo Cuban Fiber Tarp in the next couple of weeks.

I do not have a vehicle, but I am in Sarasota and can take a Greyhound to Orlando. Is anybody going to the hang from Orlando that could possibly give me a lift there and back? I found out there may be an Appalachian Trail Club chapter in Sarasota, so maybe there are some former hangers there who might share some wisdom. Thanks.

My buddy (haven't gotten him on the boards yet) that is coming up is coming from Venice, maybe we can touch base and arrange something if another hanger in the boards doesn't speak up.
