It's funny, Doogie, that you should mention that because I attended your orienteering workshop in the fall, and I got a lot out of it. That was basically my inspiration for this post.

Any thoughts on including bear bagging or doing a separate workshop?

I'll bring my bear bag setups (I'll be hiking in and using one of them - the lightest one), but I'll bring my old one and the one I use when I have larger groups. I don't think it's worth a separate discussion, at least since I only can offer hanging a bear bag since I don't own a canister or the chain-mail bags...I forget what they are called.

While I won't be able to hang I currently have managed to free up the day on Saturday to come meet folks. If I am going to be there just for the day Saturday should I still sign up

Yes! Edit...I should add...if you will be attending the breakfast, supper or both!
    Donna
Also...you will need to park in one of the day use areas...not the group camping area parking lot.

That sounds great! +1 on the basic knot tying course. Orienteering is also on my list of things to get better at. I go camping in the Sierra's some and really would like to learn more than what I have picked up on YOUTUBE.

I was wondering if for dinner, I could bring dump cake to make over the coals of one of the fires? It is a good dessert meal with fruit, butter, and cake mix.

I see no one has signed up to bring any food items yet, I will keep an eye on that and will sign up to bring some if it doesn't fill up.

If you are talking about at the group camping area...there is at least one charcoal grill in that area...as you enter, it is in the area on your left. I don't remember if there are any grills in the areas on the other side. My guess is there is.

If you want to cook over at the pavilion...it probably would be best to bring...or have someone else bring...your own grill. There is a charcoal grill there, but we will be using it to cook hotdogs. At times there have been others putting veggie burgers or some other meat they bring on the grill in addition to the hotdogs. Also...we will probably be cooking extra hotdogs.
