    Hey all,

I'd like to book the reservations pretty soon, so I'd ask that everybody confirmed as coming to have a look at the list of possible routes on post #95 and post their preference first and second choices.

    For me it would be...
    1. Tom Thompson
    2. Queer Lake on the Western border.

    For dinners, how about?
    1. Friday - BBQ/Steak - Instant Potatoes and Mushrooms
    2. Saturday - Huge pot of (Hungarian Goulash)
    3. Sunday - On your own

We could go lightweight, but why?

When you discard arrogance, complexity, and a few other things that get in the way, sooner or later you will discover that simple, childlike, and mysterious secret known to those of the Uncarved Block: Life is Fun.

Queer Lake would be my first choice, but logistically I have to vote for
    Tom T.

I regret that I won't likely be able to help much with fresh ingredients for either Fri, or Sat nights dinner. My plan is to do a short solo trip Tues and Wed nights, then spend Thursday night at Tea Lake campground. I might even ask one of you fine folks to throw an extra steak in your pack for me

I could certainly supply the huge pot to cook goulash in.

I'm about 95% sure I can make it for the trip. I'll be in a better position to know in a couple of weeks. But for now:

    Name(s): Jiblets
    Dates: Fri-Mon maybe Thur-Mon
    Coming From: Toronto
    Driving Up (Y/N): Yes
Can Carpool (Y/N): +3 if we pack light - but 2 is more comfortable
Flatwater Canoeing Experience: Intermediate - 30+ trips
Bringing Canoe: Yes - Swift Kipawa - Kevlar (Bow seat not spoken for)
Group Gear Bringing: 12x12 Gear Guide Tarp, Sawvivor & Silky Saws (want to compare them), welding gloves & angle irons for the fire.
Group Gear Available: 12" Dutch Oven (but will not portage the brute), extra Pacific Outdoor food Pinata. 3 person tent

As far as lakes go, I'm game for anything, but logistically (like everyone else) my vote is for Tom Thompson.

I'd prefer to leave Thursday aft to avoid a Friday morning drive, but if my car is required for car pooling, I don't mind leaving Friday.

I can make a chimichurri sauce for the steaks.

Bcaron: I might join you for the Thursday night drive in campsite depending on car pooling requirments. It'll also give me a night to fine-tune/test out my hammock insulation. If you don't mind, sometime over the trip I'd like to try out your Osprey. It's number 1 on my solo canoe wishlist.

    Looking forward to the trip,

    Jiblets

Looks like it's official: Tom Thomson Lake is the site for the Spring 2011 Hang!!!

It's a nice paddle, and with only one short portage and a lift over. We needn't worry about trimming the weight too much. Glad we've finally got that out of the way. I'll book a reservation asap!!

The menu and group gear can wait for a while, but I love to hear your ideas. I'll be bringing a couple of premade DIY deli sandwiches on bagettes for my first lunch. It's simple and really hits the spot.

Finally, if anybody feels they don't have the right gear, just post a note and we'll see about fixing you up.

We've got about two months to wait, make any new gear and tie those last few flies.

This should be a lot of fun!!!

    P.S.

    Sounds cool Jiblets, welcome aboard!!!
