Plenty of other places. Let me know if you guys are able to get out during the week. Weekends just haven't been working out for me lately.

Silas, one of the data point in the above link, is where Rutgers does some neat stuff with LiDaR and standard imaging in an effort to predict fire potential, fuel levels and impact, among other things.

The RH numbers look totally whacked to me, gonna call a buddy at Rutgers tomorrow, see what's up.

Tell me about it. I think I'm going to have to pull a SS and do some midweek night hike trips.

He is a cool kid. I'm very impressed at his stamina to hike the distance he did. Funny little bugger around camp too. We should definitely plan the kids hike and camp sometime soon. My six year old would like to hang with him I'm sure.

If anyone is bored, here's a link to a 300 page publication on fires in Eastern Oak Forests, same folks did some work in the Pines and are actively working sensor net data to better manage the systems. The symposium was in 2005/2006. I'm trying to find the current pubs or updates. The data sensors are still online, I just need to track down Ken's current pubs.

Same folks talking about the NJ Pine Barrens

Loop me in, I've got to get a pair of 8 year olds out there. I'll bring safety googles for the other kids.

If we car camp and do day hikes, I've got my 3.5 year old that needs to get out.

My 8 and 10 year old daughters like to hike and camp too. Sounds like we have enough kids for their own group hang, ha. We should definitely plan a more kids orientated hang. The 5.5 mile each way hike for my son was his max though, any longer and he wouldnt have had any fun hiking. For 4 he can put down some miles for sure though.

Quaker Bridge Rd has been opened. A couple hot spots remain. Gonna give it another couple days before I visit.

FYI they fixed the Relative Humidity numbers. Now accurately showing RH in the 30-35% area.
