Any short hangers using a full length underquilt?

I've been researching underquilts lately and it seems that a 3/4 length would be plenty for me. I'm 5'4"; of course taking up even less length sleeping on a diagonal. Would a full length UQ be excessive length/weight?

I was just wondering what benefits, if any, there are with a full-length UQ before I pull the trigger on a 3/4.

Are you car camping or backpacking. If car camping...go for it. If backpacking..stick with a 3/4

FL UQ will be bulkier, weigh more and cost more. A 3/4 UQ will weigh less, pack smaller and cost less. You can also add a couple of ounces of over stuff.

The Terminator is 5ft 3 and a 3/4 UQ is almost a FL for her. The closest she has to a full length UQ is a DIY I made for her RR. She uses her 3/4 UQ on her BB.

Most folks using a 3/4 UQ ( including me ) need some insulation in the foot area and folks will use a short pad or similar device...I throw my jacket down there to keep my feet warm when needed. I am 6ft 2 so a 3/4 UQ is a
    3/4 length

I have only used my FL 0 degree rated UQ once and decided that the bulk and extra weight were not worth the little bit of comfort I gained. I do have a 7/8 length UQ ( from UGQ ) 20 degree that I have used to 9 degrees and was toasty and I am sure I could have gotten at least another 10 degrees out of it if not more. Now If get to go to a minus 0 degree hang, then I will take the FL UQ and give it a try.

Full length quilts are around 78" long, with you being 64" tall that's 14" of unused but paid for down/climashield. I'm 67" tall on a good day and a 3/4 is dang near full length for me.

I have a 3/4 and a full length short. I prefer the full length short for the top to bottom down in cold temps. The 3/4 is great for warmer temps because I can slide my feet off it and get some cooling. I'm 5'7"

I'm 5'10" on a good day and decided to make a 7/8 UQ, ~66", which I can just barely get fully on with my shoulders to feet. There is not much margin for error but it does work. At your height I think a FL would be excessive weight for a backpacking application, or luxurious for car camping.

I am 5'2" and I do use a full length JRB Old Rag or The Nest. But, I do not distance hike. Instead I sit up a base camp and do day hikes so the weight/bulk is not such an issue for me as I am normally within a few miles of my car.

I choose to do the full length because I also will use them in my camper or a tent (family camping) and the full length works out way better for that purpose.

Full length quilts are available in a range of sizes as are partials from some of us. However you laying on a diagonal does not mean you will use less quilt. The quilt should be on a diagonal as well.

JRB Greylock UQ are longer than most torso lengths... At 56 Inches, when positions at the natural hair line on one end will cover the feet for folk up to 5-5 or 5-6.

My DIY underquilt is 74" long (I 'm 5'3"). I don't use a pillow in my hammock so I need the insulation under my head. I do have a 3/4 length Tewa summer underquilt but have had trouble with it slipping out of position. I wake up freezing and find there's no quilt under me- instead it's beside me. I'll take the hit on extra weight and bulk in my pack and sleep confident I'll be warm all night.
