New to the forum: Hummingbird Hammocks

We are a small company in Colorado focusing on lightweight and compact products. My son is the founder of the company. He started it with a successful Kickstarter campaign and has been slowly expanding the product line. He was a skydive instructor and a FAA Parachute Rigger while he was in college. He grabbed some reserve parachute material to build an ultralight hammock. After some tweaks and adding soft links in lieu of carabiners, the 5.2 oz single hammock the size of an orange was born. He has since added a single plus and a double size that are longer and wider for those looking for a sleeping hammock. The lightweight hammocks are made in the USA using 1.1 oz. nylon that is actual certified reserve fabric that is rated to 50 lbs psi.

We are working on a new soft link for the end loops that uses a button in lieu of a carabiner and a lightweight combination sil/poly tarp, bugnet, sock thingy (obviously needs a better marketing name!) that we will share seeking some of the incredible wisdom and feedback on this forum.

Our products our all open source on our website so the DIY'ers can download plans and specs.

    Happy Hanging,
    Joe

Hi Dutch, good to hear from you! We are still messing around with prototypes of the utlralight bridge hammock we talked about at the show. I recall you were trying to source affordable light weight spreader bars, did you have any luck? I will fix the link. Thanks!
