    Frustrating situation.

My frustration with camping in DEC or State Parks is not silly rules coming down from "the man" but rather the creative interpretations of any rules by fellow campers. Quiet hours, where to relive oneself, trash/food handling, animal feeding, speed limit, cutting live firewood, discharge of fire arms/bows/crossbows/death Rays.

So yes, this rule is silly. But God bless the park staff that try to preserve the park and make my stay as enjoyable as expected.

Nothing yet.. But I did make this for everyone to spread around.. Lets see it pop up on their facebook feed as often as possible. According to the person I spoke with one the phone 'Camping hammocks aren't all that common, so they never get a complaint'

Most NYS parks are not managed by the DEC, but by tbe OPRHP (Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Places).

    You were ok.
The FLNF is managed by the USFS. There is no prohibition that I am aware of.
