Jus trying to be helpful cheap "state park" tree straps.

In a previous thread someone mentioned here on this site about 2" tree straps being acceptable in parks. If I understand this if one drives into a park and there is primitive camping these straps are somewhat acceptable.

Here a link to a set I found... I have no idea how good they are I have ordered a set for the Granddaughter's setup.

That is not what you want for hanging- it is nylon- too stretchy. not a bad price for 2"x @8' nylon straps though. It also has no info of breaking strength. What you want to be seeking is polyester or kevlar for your straps. Neither of these stretch but kevlar is lighter. Check out the many vendors here as they all offer straps +/or material, if you DIY.

The rules vary from state-to-state. Some state parks don't allow hammocks at all, others with only 2" straps, most at least require 1" straps. There was a spreadsheet on HF that had most state's opinion, I'm not sure if it was made a sticky or not.

2" straps can also be found on Dutchware site or makeyourgear.com, I don't remember exactly.

Great price on those straps but a few reviewers posted pics of their failed (torn) straps.

Because 2" webbing is so much stronger, stretch is less of an issue.

A cheap source of two inch is your local friendly car breakers.
Or, if you pop round to a fire station, they will probably furnish you with some seatbelt webbing (from the cars they practice on) for a tray of doughnuts!
    (I know we would)

Florida is one of the states that have a minimum 2" for the hammock tree straps only for State Parks. National Forests like Ocala NF is fine with 1" straps. I just avoid the State Parks.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Another quick source for 2" Poly straps w/loops on both ends is Harbor Freight. Heavy but very usable in a pinch.

Here is LINK to them. I caught them on sale and used a 20% off coupon so paid about 7.00 for them last year. Picked up a couple of sets so I could loan them out as needed.
