    Creative Tarp Pitches

    Hi fellow Hammockers!
I would love to hear about or see pictures of your creative tarp pitches or the different ways you've pitched a tarp. Just want some new ideas for my next time in the outdoors. Would also love to know what you do for shelter when you have to go to ground ?
    Thanks a bunch,
    Zach

Take the tarp, take some cordage and stakes or a way to make them and play. While there are a few generic pitches most sites require a tailored answer depending on what is in the way and what is there to attach to. Combine that with the weather and it calls for a bit of creativity and improvisation. One of the few things I don't wonder about leaving home is some extra cordage because if I don't use it today I will tomorrow. ;-)
    YMMV

I'm with you there. A big hank of Lash-it, few extra Dutch Fleaz and an assortment of CL's and dog bones- you have the makings to improvise quite a bit for minimal weight penalty.

I pitched this 2-under-one-roof this summer with a square 4x3meter tarp and a WB Mamajamba.

There's also a few classical "tent" pitches for a square tarp like the DD 3x3m:

I'm still in the formative stages of my hammock camping. (Does it ever end?) I have a square 10' x 10' silny tarp that was relatively inexpensive. I have found this link from The Ultimate Hang to be invaluable. http://theultimatehang.com/2015/08/p...a-square-tarp/. Actually I found the whole site to be a gold mine of information as well as data mining here in the Forums. Go out in the back yard and try a few. Good luck and good hangin.

P.S. Check out Shug's Youtube channel as well. Great info with visual reference for those of us who like to see as well as read stuff.
