    It bows up because you have the hammock attached well beyond the points where the ridge pole is suspended. The hammock should be attached as close to the ridgepole suspension points as possible.

    Either move the loops holding the ridge pole out toward the ends or remove the hammock suspension from the end caps and move them in.

    FWIW...cast end caps used this way have been known to break occasionally.

    Pole suspension all the way out as far as possible!

    I've used this same setup for over 2 years now and it works like a charm. It will bow a bit, but it has never failed. I at one time turned the bolts of the sleeve downward strung a small linked chain back to the uprights using a turnbuckle to add tension. Eventually I got rid of that because it was not needed.

    My tato stand has the hammock suspension directly below the line attaching to the apex of the tripod. I bet if you tie your dogbones in about 3 or 4 inches, you'll be more secure.
