Thanks
I plan to finish up shortly and allow others to add to it in place. I've done a handful of collaborative-type projects using Google docs, and it should let us do that.
To keep it reasonable, I've limited the scope to diameters under 1/2".

Spyderline——braided outer sheath and braided inner core, kinda spliceable with great knowledge and patience—-I never spliced spyderline—-holds knots—-Sheath is poly? And can chafe, inner core is dyneema?
I got some spyderline to try out different suspensions using a single line and knots rather than a whoopie sling or UCR.
DeltaNu, thanks for compiling and posting your chart!

Here is the Google Sheets link to this chart:

I have enabled sharing, which should allow people to add info and comment. I am not aware of any protections on the document. Feel free to try it out. This will probably require access from a computer with the Chrome browser, or with the Google Sheets app on a phone or tablet.
I added Spyderline and some others.

3-strand twisted rope is spliceable (of course, it's a very different technique than that used for hollow-core rope). Under 'Spliceable', you might specify "Y- hollow-core" or "Y-3-strand" or something similar.
Very helpful!
Would also be cool if you put 'suitability' information in. I.e. a column: suitable for bear bag, suitable for tarp guy line, works with lineloc, etc. Some of that stuff is hard to quantify - I wish it's slipperiness/tangability could be measured.
I did a blog post a while back that lists out most common ropes/cords/webbings and what we as hammock campers commonly use most of them for. https://www.arrowhead-equipment.com/...e-dope-on-rope

I mostly just tried to gather objective data for a wide variety of cordage. I'm sure there's a lot that could be added... think of this as a starting point.
I think people can add whatever they want to this, in place.
