Hello Everyone.

I love my Ohm 2.0, after I got it I sold all of my other packs. I'm sorry I waited as long as I did to get it. What I spent on packs trying to avoid that price tag ended being just as much anyway. It...

I was up there last summer. We were going to go to KY, but the forecast was t-storms all the way, so we headed north....
unless you don't mind intermittent road walks and reserved camping, there are portions of the Burton section of the buckeye trail that you could make a 2-3 day trip out of. Allegheny National forest...
Wouldn't they then become tailors?
So we now have a grand total of two "masculine biased" terms?
I still contend that describing equipment by its function is gender neutral (i.e."thread...
Isn't it a machine? I don't think thread injector is biased either way, nor is sewing machine.
It's sort of like saying car vs. automobile, or blender vs. food processor, or hiking pole vs. walking...
Is there gender specific info as it pertains to hammocks and hammock camping?
I can't post about a down hat without the post being carted off to the donating members section of the site.

Can you help me understand?
It might be a matter of perspective, but aside from "guy-lines" (which are not hammock specific as their name carried over from tents) I can't think of an example of...
5'6" I bought a short TQ and UQ from HG. Went short to save $ and weight. Plenty of length to cover my head and feet above and below.

Watching this due to similar questions. I have been to neither, but intend to visit both in the coming months. Please link a trip report!
Thank you!!

Hammock pretty easy.
Rectangle tarp same.
Costco quilts, PLUQ more labor intensive and challenging.
A "real" UQ- I would never want to try it.

We were on the western side. It was our first time using the sleds. I got pretty good at floating it over downed trees. There we a few areas where we put them out front and hand held the poles to...
It's a bit late, but here is a brief trip report from a short hike in the snow and cold January 7&8 in the Minister Creek area of Allegheny National Forest. ...
I've been to Dolly Sods 4 times and in a hammock every time. The only area that I found to be troublesome was the northeast portion near near rocks. I finally managed to find a spot in a cluster of...

I had a botched attempt at a couple of down beanies become booties, they did a pretty nice job keeping the feet warm in the hammock.

You could make a PLUQ and stack quilts.
When I have been below 20 I supplement my 20 degree sleeping bag turned peapod with my PLUQ and I was toasty.

Did an overnight there the last time the government shut down and the national forest was closed. Nice scenery. Didn't have to pay to park since we were hiking the NCT, but we did have to register....
You could try sewing the quilt/pad to the underside of the hammock to avoid compressing it.

Depending on temps I will either use a fleece sleeping bag in its traditional manner, or as a TQ with a PLUQ from late may to early September.

They are tough enough. My main back yard hang spot is a little cluster of black and honey locusts. They can handle a doubled up double hammock with out a mark.

I haven't personally but a few of my (1/2 mile away) neighbors have.
It might be possible to camp at some of the Ashtabula parks properties now- with permission of course.

It's not a big place! We have a fledgling park system.
Someday there will be some public areas for primitive camping in the county.
