You could probably PM the owner of this forum and ask about the donations. If he felt you had a good enough reason or need to know he would tell you.

As someone who donates his time to moderate this forum (my way of paying it forward for all I have learned here) I have never needed to know anything about the monies collected thru donation.
I am just glad enough folks feel they are getting value for their dollar and we collect enough to pay for software maint and updates, server space and bandwidth.
Without donating members I don't believe Rick could keep this site open.

Back in 2003 I purchased a Hennessy Hammock. Except for the instructions on the outside of the bag, there was little info & tips on hanging. I found JJ site, wrote him and he gave me a ton of great advice. He's a good guy for sure. However, I've been off the site to medical issues for over 3 years. I loved this forum back then and still do. I don't even need to know the whole story as these events happen on a daily basis in our world. I wish him the best, but even more so I wish the best for this forum. Without it, there are many who would still be hanging in big heavy hammocks, sleeping on an air mat and dropping like flys to the ground without knowing how to tie a knot. MHO
